This is the list that I have come up with;

  1. beer bands
  2. beer glass markers
  3. drink buddies

  5. glass decals
  6. marker for wine glass
  7. wine glass charms
  8. wine glass markers
  9. wine glass rings
  10. wine glass tags

Identify individual drinks at a party or gathering, be there two people attending or 200. On this website, I hope to share with you a wide array of drink markers, glass charms, bottle tags and more. I will do the research so you don’t have to.

I have long been fascinated by drink markers, and now in times of pandemic, it is even more important to know which glass is yours at a gathering.

What are Drink Markers made from?

Many drink marker products are made from silicon because its convenient, cheap, low cost and easy to clean. A silicon marker placed around a bottle or glass does not deteriorate when it gets wet from spillage or washing. And its light enough to allow lifting the glass without any extra effort.

Some drink markers are created with metal hoops, with the addition of coloured balls and other Pandora-type charms attached. A more high end and costly product is created by using genuine Pandora charms, Swarovski crystals or even diamonds. Whatever the budget.

Some drink markers are made from a metal tie coated in plastic silicon (much like the bag ties found in supermarkets).

We have seen at some venues, where a washable marker pen is used to write on the glass too. It works, and looks different, but after a few glasses is likely to become smudged and unreadable.

Finally, drink markers made out of paper. Possibly the least durable of all. But these are sometimes combined with a small delicate napkin which may minimise potential water marks on high-end furniture.

So your choice of material for your drink marker will likely vary depending on whether you are having a cocktail party, a wedding or a gathering for teenagers.

Drink Marker styles

Drink markers come in such a variety of colours and styles and every event or function will have a different purpose and theme. Knowing the theme in advance enables the party planner to choose the best and most appropriate drink markers for the event. Saying that, it is unwise to choose all the same colours, or all the same type if you have a large gathering because inevitably, this will result in potential duplicates.

We recommend going for a range of colours and a range of different styles so that there is no possibility of confusion. Also, the charms should be slightly larger than you would expect, because they get harder to see in the twilight of dusk, or in a venue with subdued lighting. Or even bright flashing lights as at a party, nightclub or dance hall.

Benefit of the Drink Marker

It seems obvious, but it means that people can keep track of their own drinks when at a function, instead of having to wonder which glass is yours or mine. It means that my sparkling water won’t get mistaken for someone elses prosecco.

And by choosing a unique drink marker with an unusual style, it will be a symbol and talking point at the party for every attendee. A lightweight, portable product that will distinguish your drink from others.

Some drink markers can easily be transferred between glasses at the function so if you start with a cocktail glass, you could easily remove it and add it to the wine glass later. And then to the whiskey tumbler after that.

A last word on Drink Markers

In this blog, I research a range of drink markers from a variety of sources. Hopefully you will find the site useful in identifying a product that will meet your needs for your next small or large gathering.

I aim to showcase a range of drink markers separated by various themes, or colours. And hopefully that we will be able to find something that suits your needs perfectly.

Do remember to share your opinion about anything in the comments below this post. Especially about the name that you would call these.
